Fitness/Health Forum

Forums are like little websites that bring in tons of traffic through dedicated members all looking to help out one another. Joining a forum is a terrific way to jump start your business when it may be tricky in the beginning to find ways to get traffic. No matter what type of internet marketer you are, belonging to a forum is a great idea.A forum will give you a feeling of belonging to your niche.  You help others as they help you.

How does a forum bring in money?

Technically the forum itself will not give you money.  However it will act as an outlet to bring people to your site you are promoting.

Why do I need a signature?

Your signature is the most important part of being on a forum.  Although some instant marketers dont take advantage of this and wonder why they are not bringing in the cash.  Your signature is crucial for making money.  At the end of a post you make, there will be a place to put your signature.  Do not just put your name.  Instead, to get the most out of your post, your signiture should state your name along with somehting catchy then your affiliate link hyperlinked so people can go directly to your product.

Here is a good example of what I mean.....

John Smith
Get RIpped Abs in Just 16 Weeks
http://www.youraffiliatelink.com   <<<<<<<< (Hyperlink this)

Or another method that works well for your signature is to make it sound like you have used the actual product you are promoting. For example...

John Smith
I got awesome ripped abs in just 16 weeks using this product/system
http://www.youraffiliatelink.com   <<<<<<<<< (Hyperlink this)

Another way to catch people's attention with a signiture is to give an offer.  This brings on urgency and excitement to the reader... For example

John Smith

How often do I need to post?

This is anther important factor to being successful in a forum.  The amount of times you post is crucial to whether or not you will make money.  You MUST post at least once a day.  Prefferably more but at LEAST once to make it worth your while.

How do I know which forum to use?

Its not a good idea to post to the first forum you find for your niche.  At first, do a little spying on it to see the activity level and what people are frequently talking about.  Also check out the number of members the forum has.  Remember, your time is important here, so you dont want to waste it on forums that wont get you anywhere.

A good idea is to find 3-5 forums that are very popular, active and have a large amount of active members.  Here are some of the biggest bodybuilding forums if that is your niche.

  • TheAbsForum.com (my forum)
  • Arnel.TV (my forum)
  • LeeHayward.com
  • MuscleandStregth.com
  • PrecisionNutrition.com

Don't forget to try some bodybuilding forums too.

  • Bodybuildingforyou.com
  • Bodybuilding.com
  • Ironmagazine.com
  • Bodybuilding.net
  • ABCBodybuilding.com
  • DiscussBodyBuilding.com
  • BBForums.com

Some important forum posting tips:

Never look like you are advertising your product.  Make it look soft and passive and not at all like SPAM
Offer unique content to build curiosity.
Never post before reading the rules of the forum you intend on using.  You could easily get kicked off of it before anyone gets a chance to see your post.  Some forums state that they do not allow affiliate links at all.  Therefore you will be wasting your time again.
Try to post onto popular topics that have lots of posts.  Active members get a notification when a new post is added.
Always use hyperlinks for your affiliate product.  If something involves extra work, even if its as little as copying and pasting your link into their own browser.  Most peole wont do it.  Your job is to make it fast and easy for people to view your link and make it just a click away by making it hyperlinked.

Being successful on a forum or forums comes from trial and error.  You may have to make several attemps to find which forums are right for you and how often you need to post during the day to get yourself noticed.

Good Luck!
